Silent auction items

My niece is a member of her high school orchestra. One of their fundraisers is a silent auction. My sister and I have managed to be in charge of it for the last two years and this year I had some fun coming up with some creative ideas for auction items.

O.k. I think I need an intervention!!!! I have started crafting Christmas projects and I just can't stop. I am having way too much Christmas fun for July! I have been working on a few different thing, but am just sharing one today. I am making... ORNAMENTS. I know gee how original, but I just love how they are turning out. There will be many more projects between now and Dec. 25th, but check out these snowflakes for now. :)

I used my cricut to cut some chipboard. When it's cold outside is one of the coolest cartridges. It has all sorts of awesome snowflakes. I cut four of my favorites, the nativity, Santa around the world, candy, and a gingerbread. Then I painted them and applied Martha Stewart glitter before the paint dried, and here is what you get. :)

Posting again finally!

Ok, I am a bad blogger. I had good intentions, but have been busy doing all sorts of projects. I did survive all the weddings and graduations, and baby showers. I even took pics of some of those gifts so here they are... drumrolll please...

Well these are a few, just to give you an idea.

`A new room for Holden

Okay I know I am a bad mom. I started working on Holden's room about a year ago. We had a great plan. I just wasn't too sure how to execute it. hmmm. So his room remained unfinished for quite a while. Well fast forward a few months. I got my cricut and yet I still wasn't sure what to do with his room. Through some research, I found sure cuts a lot software to go along with my cricut. Now I could cut anything with my cricut if I could turn it into a scal file. So I made a few fun football helmets for his wall, and did a great makeover on his celling fan. I just love this software!!!!

I have also decided to include scripture in each of the rooms of my house so here is Holden's verse.

6 weddings and a funeral

I am amazed at how much is going on over the next few weeks. I have jokingly started calling next months 6 weddings and a funeral, but that really doesn't begin to describe it. I have 4 wedding gifts, 2 graduation gifts, 3 birthdays (my oldest boys and mine), our anniversary, father's day, and a baby shower to get gifts for. So needless to say I am going to be a very busy girl over the next few weeks getting everything together. It should be fun and I will post pics so you can see what I am up to. :)

It all started with a comforter

Last monday I bought a new comforter and that is when all the trouble began. I started thinking of all the great new ideas I could use to decorate. It was fun coming up with new ways to redo things. First I had my husband build a headboard. It was a simple design, but I love the way it turned out. Then I decided to repaint the cedar chest that lives at the end of my bed. Then we decided the walls needed to be painted a new color. So several days and lots of hours worth of work later I have a mostly finished room, and I love love love it!!!!!

Okay my husband is going to take away my laptop. I have been looking at blog after blog. I am officially addicted. I have about a million ideas floating around in my head, and I think he is terrified that I may try to do them all. HeeHee. Shh don't tell him, BUT I am totally inspired and can't wait to get going, so stay tuned. :)

Row Row Row your camper

Camping in the middle of April in Texas seemed safe enough. Little did we know that there would be rain. Not just rain I am talking epic rain. We spent a lot of time stuck in the camper wishing we could go outside. We eventually all moved out to the picnic table under the awning. I think I found the definition of bored. I started to take picture of the rain hitting the ground. The results were actually pretty cool though.

Since I grew up in the desert I know better than to complain too much about rain. So I guess I will say thank you Lord for the beautiful April Showers. :)
