An old favorite with a new look.

I made an Easter wreath more years ago than I like to think about. I just loved it! The second year I put it out a bird also decided it was pretty neat too because she built her nest in it. Then she laid and watched over three eggs. I could not have been more excited. I was at the time pregnant with my first child. Yes, I know he is 12 now, but that is a minor detail. I left it up forever. I think it was time for halloween before I took it down, but oh I enjoyed having baby birds grow up in my Easter wreath. I guess I put it out each year since hoping that the phenomenon might repeat, but alas I now have three busy boys so no luck! hahaha I guess the birds are much smarter than that.

Well, I love that wreath much more than I should so I just haven't been able to part with it. I can't think of many other holiday decorations who have hung around so long. This year I couldn't bear to put it out again. It looks horrible! I also couldn't throw it away. Soooooo... I decided it needed a makeover. I just love the results. What do you think?

One of my FAVORITE places on Earth

I love to paint pottery! It wasn't something I ever really thought I would enjoy or be good at. When my boys were babies I found a place where I could enjoy some quiet and some time to paint. I didn't like much that I painted in the early years, but I went back because I needed some time away from the craziness of life. Over the years I gradually got better. Mostly because of Kim. She owns The Painted Poppy and is sweet enough to be paitient with a crazy lady like me. She has taught me several tricks to help my items turn out better, and is even willing to draw out at least 10,000 zebra stripes!!! I truely enjoy painting now and have even gotten brave enough to give pottery as gifts. I also have had the blessing of being able to call Kim my friend. God knew just what I needed. If you ever happen to be in Odessa TX you should stop by and paint awhile. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

Valentine Fun

Love is in the air. The very very frozen air.

I have been having so much fun with all the great ideas on everyones blog lately. I even came up with a few of my own. Having all boys it's hard to make things for Valentine's that aren't... GiRlY... eeeewwww I said it. LOL I did insist on a few girly things, but check out Holden's mailbox. He was thrilled with it and there is no pink to be found. Enjoy!

Sam had fun sorting out the broken or messed up ones. Mostly because he could eat them. :)

How about a little Longhorn love???
This box was fun to make. I found it at Hobby Lobby and let Holden paint it white. Then I cut out the phrases and images in vinyl on my cricut. It was rather simple but he was thrilled with how it turned out.

Silent auction items

My niece is a member of her high school orchestra. One of their fundraisers is a silent auction. My sister and I have managed to be in charge of it for the last two years and this year I had some fun coming up with some creative ideas for auction items.

O.k. I think I need an intervention!!!! I have started crafting Christmas projects and I just can't stop. I am having way too much Christmas fun for July! I have been working on a few different thing, but am just sharing one today. I am making... ORNAMENTS. I know gee how original, but I just love how they are turning out. There will be many more projects between now and Dec. 25th, but check out these snowflakes for now. :)

I used my cricut to cut some chipboard. When it's cold outside is one of the coolest cartridges. It has all sorts of awesome snowflakes. I cut four of my favorites, the nativity, Santa around the world, candy, and a gingerbread. Then I painted them and applied Martha Stewart glitter before the paint dried, and here is what you get. :)

Posting again finally!

Ok, I am a bad blogger. I had good intentions, but have been busy doing all sorts of projects. I did survive all the weddings and graduations, and baby showers. I even took pics of some of those gifts so here they are... drumrolll please...

Well these are a few, just to give you an idea.

`A new room for Holden

Okay I know I am a bad mom. I started working on Holden's room about a year ago. We had a great plan. I just wasn't too sure how to execute it. hmmm. So his room remained unfinished for quite a while. Well fast forward a few months. I got my cricut and yet I still wasn't sure what to do with his room. Through some research, I found sure cuts a lot software to go along with my cricut. Now I could cut anything with my cricut if I could turn it into a scal file. So I made a few fun football helmets for his wall, and did a great makeover on his celling fan. I just love this software!!!!

I have also decided to include scripture in each of the rooms of my house so here is Holden's verse.
